The extended sneak peek of The Walking Dead season 10 revealed during the Preview Special offered a glimpse of Daryl and Carol.

Fans got their first look at a scene from The Walking Dead season 10 during The Walking Dead Season 10 Preview Special, and the sneak peek revealed a ton of interesting information about what’s coming up in the new season.

The scene took place on the beach and in the woods by the beach, where lots of fish are being preserved with salt.

Carol and Daryl walk along. It turns out that she’s fresh off of a fishing trip (hence the fish) and that she had a chance to sleep out under the stars on the boat and she liked it. It was peaceful, relaxing. She was able to put everything out of her mind.

Carol also revealed that the Oceansiders have been receiving letters from Maggie in Maggie’s absence. This makes a lot of sense because Maggie and Carol turned a blind eye when they came upon Cyndie and the other women executing the Saviors.

Daryl was very curious about her trip and had lots of questions about her voyage, but Carol’s best friend wanted to know if she had an ulterior motive in her journey. Daryl asked if she had been looking for “her” in a thinly veiled reference to Alpha. Surprisingly, Carol responded that she’s trying to put all of that behind her and she’d be happy to never hear from the Whisperers again.

What we can learn from this clip is that in the brief moments since the season 9 finale, the group has spread out. They’re working with Oceanside to catch fish and going out on boats to find more food. Maggie is still communicating with the communities, and no one has seen or heard from the Whisperers since the early days of winter.

The sneak peek was but an amuse bouche for the TWD Family. The countdown begins as fans eagerly await The Walking Dead season 10 premiere on October 6.
