Fear The Walking Dead 509: Best fan reactions to ‘Channel 4’
By Sonya Iryna
Fear The Walking Dead returned with a midseason premiere that didn’t follow the usual format but packed an emotional punch. Fans had lots of reactions.
Fear The Walking Dead returned for the second half of season 5 with a midseason premiere that was different in style from anything the show had done before. This time Al’s camera was turned on the squad members as they created a video to play at the truck stops showing anyone who watched it that the group was real and could be trusted.
The video switched between character revealing conversations and showing the group in action as they helped a woman name Tess recover an inhaler for her son. Her husband, who had gone out on his own to find an inhaler, had taken the unusual step of planting land mines around the house to keep Tess and their son safe. Morgan got into trouble when he stepped on a mine but with the help of Al, and Tess, he was able to escape unharmed.
Logan and his crew showed up at the end of the episode, and that scene also introduced a new character, Wes, played by Colby Hollman. Based on casting news that has been released there will be several more new characters joining Fear TWD over the course of season 5B.
The unique look and feel of the midseason premiere had fans divided. Some fans weren’t fans of the style but some fans really liked the innovative and artistic style that Fear has adopted which makes it distinctly different from the mothership show.
