The Walking Dead season 10: Lydia will undergo a major transformation

In The Walking Dead season 10 preview special, Cassady McClincy hinted at a huge transformation for Lydia that fans will get to see in season 10 of The Walking Dead.
The Talking Dead aired it’s annual The Walking Dead preview special last night where fans got to sneak a peek at some of the action that is going to come in the show’s 10th season this October. Cassady McClincy who plays Lydia on the show shared in an interview on the preview special that Lydia was going to be a lot different this season. Cassady said that Lydia was going to be “badass” and that she was also going to be utilizing a particular weapon this season as well:
"Lydia’s learning how to use that stick!"
Lydia can be seen wielding her new weapon in The Walking Dead season 10 trailer which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer.
Getting to see Lydia step up and into action in season 10 will be incredibly exciting for her character. It will definitely be such a stunning transformation to see from when we first met her in season 9. Lydia is a victim of abuse and it will be so empowering to see her step up and fight for herself along with everyone else. This is such an important transformation to see for her character and it is extremely needed in this story. It will also be interesting to see who might influence Lydia into taking up self-defense and fighting skills. McClincy also shared that Daryl and Lydia will share a lot of father and daughter bonding moments in season 10. Perhaps Daryl will be the one to teach Lydia some self-defense skills.
