I think that when we first saw Glenn Rhee meeting Rick Grimes for the first time in “Guts”, it was such a huge and iconic moment in the series.

Glenn was the one whose voice rang in like an angel to save Rick from killing himself on the radio. Then Rick finally gets to meet Glenn face to face in this episode and it launches the rest of the story of The Walking Dead into motion.

I always felt like Glenn was the glue that kept everyone together for such a long time in the show, and from the moment that Glenn saves Rick’s life, I think that Rick knew that too. Glenn didn’t have to call out to Rick on the radio in the tank, but he did because that’s just the kind of person that Glenn is.

He always cared about people that he didn’t personally know, because he knew that was the right thing to do. Also because of Rick saving Glenn, Rick was lead back to finding his family again. Glenn played a huge part in Rick Grimes journey, and it is something that we shouldn’t forget. The significance of Rick & Glenn’s relationship plays a huge part in the story, and that is why this moment is so important in the show.
