Fear the Walking Dead is back, and despite the group ditching him…so is Logan. In a zombie apocalypse, jobs you don’t finish? They come back to bite you.

Well, I was right last week: Morgan’s group could not trust Logan. Though, to be fair, the group on Fear the Walking Dead didn’t trust him that much in the first place, so, luckily, he wasn’t hanging around them for half the season, plotting right under their noses.

However, the group chose to just dump him before getting the gas at the oil fields stashed away by Clayton. Yeah, it was funny, and, yeah, the group is trying to avoid killing people, but, you just knew that, sooner or later, that old snake in the grass was going to come back with his goon squad, and sure enough, that’s just what happened.

So far as we can tell, Logan hasn’t killed anyone, yet, but, by leaving him and his cronies around, Morgan’s group is setting themselves up for a nasty fall which Logan and his minions are sure to orchestrate.

And, that is going to be our focus this week: Unfinished business.

You see, while you might get away with it right now, in a zombie apocalypse, leaving things half-done is a recipe for disaster.

Let’s stick with my Logan example for a minute. Logan is a bitter, crafty old bastard who has a gang of ruthless, well-armed thugs at his beck and call, and has, thus far, been thwarted twice by Morgan’s group in his attempts to get Clayton gas stash, once with them leaving him behind in the middle of nowhere to walk two hundred miles! Now, with the group having done that, what do you think Logan and his henchmen intend to do to Morgan’s convoy should they catch up to them, and…how many people do you think Morgan will lose when that happens?

This is the sort of problem you create for yourself (And it is creating a problem for yourself) when you don’t deal with hostiles: They will come back looking for revenge, and woe betide any friends or family you have in your group when said hostiles exact that revenge.

Unfortunately, Morgan has a bad habit of leaving behind unfinished business, like, failing to kill Jenny. I mean, I get it — It’s tough to put down the zombie of your wife — but…it just led to disaster.

That’s what happens. If you don’t deal with zombies when you have the opportunity to, they will, maybe even literally, come back to bite you in the ass.

Even if it’s the zombie of someone you love, you need to deal with them. If you don’t, that’s one more zombie roaming around that could one day bite someone else (including someone else you love), maybe even you.

Even things that might seem mundane, if left unfinished in a zombie apocalypse, can wreak havoc later down the line.

Things we might take for granted like fixing a fence, putting gas in your car, hell, even closing a door, if you don’t do them, they can either leave an opening for hostiles or zombies to get past your perimeter and attack, or leave you high and dry at the worst possible time.

It never pays to leaves things half-finished if you can finish them, but, this is especially true in a zombie apocalypse. All it takes is one thing carelessly left undone, one hostile left to fight another day, or one zombie you chose to leave alone to result in disaster, usually in the form of losing someone you care about.

A zombie apocalypse is no time to get lazy.

This is why you follow…The Rules.
