With the walkers heading toward them they make a run for the escalators. Morgan fights off a walker and Grace shoots it. Soon they’re at the top floor and the walkers keep coming up the escalator. Morgan kills them as they come up but more are coming from the sides. Grace reverses the direction and sends the walkers back to the ground floor.

They return to the office and Grace finds the key to the urgent care. Now that the security cameras are working, they find Chuck. He’s alive and he’s on the roof.

Dwight has Logan’s man in a field and he tells him that he was an a-hole but he got a second chance, so he’s giving the man a second chance, too. He can walk out of the woods and be an a-hole or he can be someone else. He frees him and the man runs off.

Morgan and Grace find Chuck and tell him that they were looking for him. He meant to leave a note but he wanted to make a move when the “stumblers” followed them. He hopes they didn’t cause any trouble. Grace asked why he moved and he figured he could see the stars one last time. Unfortunately it’s a cloudy night. But, he has company. Grace tells Morgan to stay there and she comes back with a children’s lamp that projects stars onto the porch. Chuck thanks her, and she and Morgan share a smile.

The next day Grace and Morgan bury Chuck with the turtle lamp that projects stars. They go back inside, and Grace decides that she doesn’t want to know. Chuck didn’t want to die in the mall, and neither does she. All she wants is to believe there is more. “That’s brave,” he says. She apologizes for putting him through that, but he points out that they did what they meant to do.

She turns the generator back on and gets onto the carousel, telling him to get on. He laughs as he rides the horse beside her.

The caravan pulls in and Dwight is there. Salazar is hoping for a Cinnabon, but there are no pastry shops inside. They see Dwight’s face and he explains that he caught Logan’s man and let him go. Tess says they found a ranch nearby. They’re going to grab supplies.

Salazar gives Dwight a haircut and a shave while Grace’s tape plays. Dwight can’t believe how different he looks. Salazar is pleased with his handiwork, and it doesn’t hurt that he got to work in an actual barbershop.

Grace smiles as they pack up the supplies. Morgan smiles as he looks at the carousel. Salazar catches him smiling and asks why, but Morgan doesn’t say.

Outside Grace gasses up the truck. She grabbed some protein bars for them. Morgan says he isn’t going with them. He needs to find Al and give her some backup. Grace looks disappointed but she understands. He tells her to be safe and she puts on a brave face as they say goodbye. She wipes away tears. Morgan looks in his rearview mirror and sees her as he drives away. He’s crying, too.
