1) Ed is from Oregon. He is the first character we’ve met in either Walking Dead show (Or, at least, the first confirmed one) to be from Oregon.

2) Ed was, apparently, either in Daytona, Florida when the outbreak hit, or, it was the last city he visited before heading west. Also, according to Ed, Daytona was “not too good”. Did it get destroyed during Operation: Cobalt, too?

3) Ed was a stand-up comic before the apocalypse, another first for a Walking Dead character (Or, at least, another confirmed first).

4) Much like John when we first met him in the Season Four opener, “Who Are You Now?”, Ed hadn’t spoken to another living person for a long time before meeting Al; In his case, three months. Who was the last person he spoke to?

5) According to Ed, it took him a year to reach Texas, but whether that was from leaving Daytona or some place closer, he doesn’t specify.

6) Ed doesn’t seem (Or, at least, doesn’t use) a distinct name for the dead, simply calling the walkers “Them”, and, in his story, calling one walker a “nightmare demon” (Though, that seems more like a description than a name). That said, if one were to consider “Them” a proper term for the dead, that would be, approximately, the sixteenth distinct name for the walkers in Fear.
