Fear The Walking Dead, The Althea Tapes: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) During the garbled part of the tape, it sounds like (At least) CJ came from Dallas.
2) The Big Spot, the store CJ recounts hiding in to escape a hurricane, is a store chain that has made a couple of appearances in The Walking Dead universe, most notably, the first episode of Season Four of TWD, “30 Days Without An Accident, wherein Zach was killed by walkers while he, Daryl, Tyreese, Sasha, Glenn, and Bob were on a supply run there.
3) Did CJ and Earl meet during the hurricane which hit in the second half of Season Four of Fear?
4) Earl, if CJ’s story about him is any indication, is an expert fisherman.
5) CJ was homeless when the outbreak hit, and, if Dallas was anything like Los Angeles, may explain how she survived: Like Nick Clark, she may have encountered the infected before everyone else in the city and therefore, realized the sort of threat they posed before everyone else.
6) CJ mentioned that she’s “good with the living”. With her having patched up Earl’s wounded leg, does that mean she’s learned some basic medicine since the apocalypse began?
7) CJ and Earl are the second and third homeless characters we’ve met in Fear, behind Nick.
8) CJ and Earl both reference having to kill people. Who were they? People they knew? Hostiles? We never find out.
9) Neither CJ nor Earl seem to have a distinct name for the dead.
