Fear The Walking Dead, Channel 4: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
8) When Dwight says he’s doing “…the polar opposite of what I used to do“, he’s referring to his time with The Saviors, the first time he’s referenced the group (As opposed to Negan, individually).
9) Additionally, Dwight whittling chess pieces for him and Daniel to play with is a callback to the soldiers we saw him carve back in The Walking Dead’s Season Seven episode, “The Cell”.
10) Morgan teaching Alicia aikido is not only a culmination of his attempts to reach out to her in the first half of the season, but also, a callback to his offer to teach Nick aikido in the latter’s final episode, Season Four’s “Good Out here”.
11) After we see Alicia practicing aikido, we see Strand dispatch several walkers using the gunbarrel sword.
12) From what we see of the camp, there’s at least nine people there with Grace and June (Not counting Tess and her son, whom we see later). There may be more, but, I wasn’t sure if they were different people or not.
13) How long ago from the recordings had the group picked up Tess and her son? The splices leave the timeline a little up in the air.
14) Tess’s husband, Ben, rigging their front yard with land mines is the first time we’ve seen such tactics used against the dead. Also, the mines are the first traps we’ve seen in this half of the season, but the fifth trap we’ve seen overall this season. Dude, people love them some traps…
