Christian Serratos eyes Netflix show, The Walking Dead days could be numbered
The Walking Dead star Christian Serratos is in talks to star in a Netflix series about Tejano music legend Selena. What does this mean for Rosita?
Christian Serratos could be moving to Netflix in a deal that would make her the star of their series about iconic Tejano singer Selena. As negotiations continue, The Walking Dead fans have to wonder what this means for Rosita’s future on the show.
Rosita is due for a big story in season 10 of The Walking Dead as she gives birth to a bouncing baby. Fans recently learned that Rosita’s baby will be called Coco, short for Socorro. She shares the baby with the baby’s father Siddiq, her current beau Father Gabriel and extra support dad Eugene. Their story will feature prominently in season 10, which makes this news even more alarming.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Serratos is in final negotiations for the role of Selena Quintanilla in a new series at Netflix. The move would conflict with her shooting schedule for The Walking Dead, which means that either she finds a way to make it all work or Rosita’s days on the show might be numbered.
While the move would be huge for Serratos herself, it’s an interesting time for Rosita to leave the show given the birth of the baby. Obviously leaving doesn’t mean death for Rosita, who could move to another community in the same way that star Lauren Cohan did in season 9. Cohan is in talks to return for season 10 and with that kind of precedent there’s every reason to believe the same could be said for Serratos.
Stay tuned for more updates as the story unfolds. The Walking Dead returns October 6 on AMC.
