If Madison Clark ever returns Lennie James would like to see Morgan and Madison interact on Fear The Walking Dead.

Madison Clark’s death was probably the most controversial death that Fear The Walking Dead has done. It left Alicia Clark, Daniel Salazar, and Victor Strand as the only remaining characters from season 1. The surprising death of Madison Clark coming so quickly after the death of Nick Clark threw the series into a new direction almost as abruptly as it shifted the focus of the show from the relationship between the Clarks to the way that each character found purpose in the post-apocalypse world.

But there’s been some doubt about whether or not Madison is actually gone, or whether she could appear at some point in the future. She dramatically led a herd of walkers into the stadium and locked them, and herself, in the stadium to draw the walkers away from her loved ones and give them a chance to get away. Her death was implied, but never seen on screen. She also wasn’t seen as a reanimated walker. Her frequent comment that “No one’s gone until their gone.” could imply that Madison isn’t really gone.

Recently Lennie James told Digital Spy that he regrets not getting the chance to work with Kim Dickens and said that he’d like to Madison to return so that the two characters could meet and so that he’d get to work with her. He said:

"“I would love [her to come back], to be absolutely honest. I think everybody would. I’ve heard that fan theory, I can’t really comment on it, but one of the regrets I have is that I didn’t get to do any scenes with Kim before she left. So if she came back and I could do scenes with her that would be absolutely lovely.”“But the chances are that won’t happen. But what do I know? Anything can happen in our planet and in this world, but me saying I would love to work with Kim is not me surreptitiously saying that it’s going to happen. The truth is she’s an actress that I greatly admire and would love to work with.”"

While it does seem like Madison is gone for good if she does ever appear again it would indeed be exciting to see Morgan and Madison meet.

Never Say Never

Even though the chances that Madison would reappear are small on Fear The Walking Dead there is always a chance that someone from the past could reappear. There’s precedent for characters to come back even after a long absence.

Daniel Salazar has seemingly come back from the dead twice. In season 2 he had a bit of a breakdown and set fire to the compound. It was assumed by everyone that he died in the fire although his actual death was not shown. In season three he reappeared. He was injured, but managed to make his way to the dam where he came across Strand and eventually Madison.

At the end of season 3 Strand shot Daniel in the face and left him for dead, once again it was assumed that Daniel didn’t survive. However, Daniel survived that too and rejoined the group in season 5 after being absent for season 4.

That doesn’t Madison will ever return, but it does mean that there’s still a chance even if it’s a small chance. No one’s gone until they’re gone.
