Honorable Mentions

There were so many memorable and important moments in The Walking Dead season 4 that it’s difficult to pick through them. Here are a couple of important moments that didn’t make our panelists’ list but are still important moments in season 4:

Michonne Chooses Life

Season 4, episode 409 “After”

Michonne reached a breaking point after the attack on the prison. She was separated from the group, and devastated by what happened. When she’s walking with a herd disguised by pets she sees a walker that looks like her and it sets off something very primal for her. She has to choose between life and death and she thinks about choosing death, but ultimately she chooses life. She slaughters the walkers and then goes to find Rick and Carl.

Rick Banishes Carol

Season 4, episode 4 “Indifference”

After Carol confesses to Rick that she killed Karen and David and burned their bodies in order to keep the flu from spreading throughout the prison Rick banishes her from the prison. This is a huge moment because it’s the first time that anyone has ever been banished.

It changes Carol because she realized then that she really doesn’t need anyone else to survive. And despite Rick’s bad decision to kick her out she later saves Judith, and then saves Rick and everyone else. At that moment Rick considered Carol a danger, but she really turned out to be an asset because she goes on to save them all many times.
