The Walking Dead world has expanded with developed communities consisting of many survivors. Their world has the potential to reach bigger milestones, but the Whisperers may make it harder to expand.

The Walking Dead has undergone major changes with bringing civilization back. The way the communities communicate, trade, and protect each other has changed. They have formed their own laws to keep stability and make it easy for new citizens to become part of their world.

Their world now seems small compared to the bigger world still out there yet to be discovered by them. Rick Grimes exited season 9 and has a full taste of what the other world looks like, while Maggie Rhee may have knowledge that could help from her mission retreat with Georgie.

They can find great survivors like Yumiko’s group or find another dangerous group like the Whisperers. It’s a spin of the wheel and no way of knowing, but the only way they will know is by coming for it before it comes for them (sounds familiar?).

The Kingdom found a group on accident in the Highwaymen and found they had more in common with that group than they realized. Not all situations will end like that, but every life count. If they can reason with people, they are in a perfect position to reason before resorting to bloodshed.

With a strict security protocol, the number of fatalities by walker bites have gone down drastically compared to previous seasons. Lots of community members that are known by name and members that are just living their lives and carrying their jobs to help their respective community.

Alpha and the Whisperers are a major roadblock from their world growing. The separation between them still makes things difficult with ports of entry and trade potentially being disrupted by one of the Whisperers.

One area of focus that disconnected them and made travel and trade harder was the bridge being out.  With the Whisperers constantly near, will they eventually have no choice but to cross their borders? We already know they will. It will likely be due to less safe or longer trips to tip their tanks to empty from traveling.

Their world can still grow with new citizens, but for them to expand to a whole new world with more communities, they will need all their resources. Overspending on resources just to avoid Alpha’s territory could cause their progress to start moving slow.

Their potential for growth may be a little slow at first because of Alpha’s rules. They are fighting for the freedom of the land and to continue to grow as a community like they were doing before they met the Whisperers. Stay tuned when The Walking Dead returns to see how far their world can and will grow October 6th only on AMC.
