6) As the episode returns from commercial following the title sequence, we see Max and Dylan selecting a rat to bait walkers with. It’s their first appearance in the second half of this season.

7) According to what we learn from Pete and Dom later, Clayton had the bright idea to use walkers as workhorses, pulling the oil pump along. This might be the most clever use of walkers yet in either Walking Dead show.

8) Speaking of which, while Pete and Dom allude to the oil pump walkers being bad people, who, exactly, were they? Were they bad before the outbreak? Or, were they people Clayton and his crew were forced to defend themselves from once everything went down?

9) Annie also returns in this episode, marking her first appearance in this half of the season, apparently taking stock of the oil drums.

10) While the Walking Dead universe has occasionally touched upon the potential damage gunfire can cause to one’s hearing, Sarah firing a gun next to Rollie’s ear is the first time it’s been used as a weapon in Fear.

::Addendum for “Ner Tamid”::

After some thinking (And remembering I counted it when Martin (That guy!) used the term), I’ve decided I will count Rabbi Kessner’s use of the term “Dead Ones” as a unique name for walkers in Fear, putting the count at twenty-four.
