Robert Kirkman and Jason Howard have created Super Dinosaur, a comic book series that has been adapted for an Amazon streaming series in October.

For nearly ten years now, fans have enjoyed watching The Walking Dead on their television sets. Since then, the comic book series has come to a conclusion, two more television shows were created based on the property, and numerous games and toys have made the franchise a worldwide phenomenon.

But The Walking Dead isn’t the only property Robert Kirkman has. Other creations such as Oblivion Song, Invincible, and others have garnered some attention. However, one project to keep an eye on is Super Dinosaur.

A kid-friendly comic adapted by Amazon, the upcoming series was given a premiere date that was shared by Deadline. The 13 episode season will be available on Amazon Prime Video On Oct. 6 with each installment being a half an hour. Fans in Canada have already had the option of watching on Teletoon, but now it is coming to a bigger audience.

Robert Kirkman discussed the appeal of Super Dinosaur and why fans of The Walking Dead may want to gather their children to watch it with them…or even just watch it themselves.

"“Jason Howard and I created Super Dinosaur as something all kids would enjoy as much as our own kids do. In doing so we were able to craft a world as immersive and engaging as the world of The Walking Dead… but for kids. Our partners at Spin Master have helped Skybound prepare this world for a mass-audience and I’m so happy this series has landed at Amazon where I know it will thrive.”"

The story will follow a genius ten-year-old boy named Derek Dynamo who has a best friend, which is a tyrannosaurus rex. The duo will protect the earth from evil.

Super Dinosaur will also get a toy line from Skybound and Spin Master to accompany the show’s release. If this series catches on, it could be an amazing addition to the resume of Robert Kirkman and Skybound.
