The Walking Dead season 10 official synopsis
The Walking Dead enters its storied tenth season with the promise of more action and thrills than ever before. Here’s the season 10 synopsis!
Fans have been counting down the days until The Walking Dead season 10 premiere on October 6. With only a few short weeks to go, AMC has released the official synopsis of the tenth season as the show continues its transformation in the post-Rick Grimes era.
The Walking Dead has always been a story of survival in the face of insurmountable odds, and now as season 10 approaches threats are still there, even though some of them are the undead and others are wearing masks made from the skin of the undead. That’s right: The Whisperers are still out there, their warning not to cross over into their land still fresh as memories linger of all the lives lost in season 9.
With the advent of season 10, the threat of the Whisperers is greater than ever, but so too are other challenges. Here’ is the official synopsis of season 10 of The Walking Dead from AMC:
"The Walking Dead is a story that started 10 years ago with one man trying to find his family. That family grew and gradually communities took shape. They fought and survived, thrived and gave birth to a new generation. It is a tale of humankind and there are more stories to tell.It is now Spring, a few months after the end of Season 9, when our group of survivors dared to cross into Whisperer territory during the harsh winter. The collected communities are still dealing with the after effects of Alpha’s horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable. But the Whisperers are a threat unlike any they have ever faced. Backed by a massive horde of the dead it is seemingly a fight they cannot win. The question of what to do and the fear it breeds will infect the communities and give rise to paranoia, propaganda, secret agendas, and infighting that will test them as individuals and as a society. The very idea of whether civilization can survive in a world filled with the dead hangs in the balance."
Thanks to the season trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, fans know that some of the action has shifted to Oceanside. Carol was on a boat. The survivors are learning to fight, and for some of them it’s their first experience getting ready for a fight while this brings back memories of All Out War for others.
Season 10 will also be the final season for Danai Gurira. The idea of losing Michonne’s presence is hard, but the silver lining comes in knowing that Michonne might somehow show up in the Rick Grimes movies, and that will be a good thing.
The stakes have never been higher for The Walking Dead. There is still so much to gain, but how much more can they lose?
