Events from The Walking Dead season 9 traumatized Siddiq and he will struggle to keep himself together while taking on the duties of being a father.

For a group that hasn’t been a part of The Walking Dead for very long, the Whisperers made a massive impact in a short time. Not only did they kill an impressive number of survivors, but they used those corpses to send a message to everyone else.

One individual who got that message loud and clear was Siddiq. He was spared during the ambush that resulted in the pike wall in order to return to the community and tell the story of what Alpha and her group are capable of. However, the ramifications of surviving that ordeal may not be as great as they may seem.

With season 10 of The Walking Dead set to return in October, AMC released some character bios for the major players and the one for Siddiq doesn’t sound great. Here is what is in store for the doctor-turned-daddy:

"“As the sole survivor of Alpha’s wrath last year, Siddiq is suffering from PTSD. He is privately trying to piece back together his sanity while tending to his newborn and the increasing medical needs for Alexandria. Faced with a memory that never ends, he questions what is happening around him, inching further down the rabbit hole of depression and anxiety.”"

Watching so many of his friends being slaughtered by the Whisperers only to return to the group has to be difficult for Siddiq. Trauma like that isn’t easily forgotten and will likely take a toll on his psyche for quite a while. Even though he was able to use his story to rally others with his tale of heroism from those lost, those images of murder have to be burned into his mind.

Add in the fact that he will have a new role as a father in season 10, but may have to share that role with Father Gabriel, Rosita’s significant other. Factoring in a jealous Eugene possibly looking to move in on her at any opportunity, and add even more stress on Siddiq’s shoulders.

The challenges facing Siddiq in season 10 of The Walking Dead will be massive. He will need to find a way to be able to work through his feelings and accept that he lived when others died by realizing his new role as a father needs to take precedence. Hopefully, he can accomplish that when the show returns in October.
