Cailey Fleming of The Walking Dead joins Greg Nicotero on Creepshow

The Walking Dead sweetheart Cailey Fleming is joining executive producer Greg Nicotero’s on Shudder’s Creepshow.

On AMC’s The Walking Dead, Cailey Fleming plays the adorable and sweet Judith Grimes, a strong survivor who knows how to take care of herself. While she will return for season 10 of the zombie drams, fans who enjoy her work can soon see her in another project.

Next up she has joined executive producer Greg Nicotero in the new Creepshow series, where filming is probably not a far stretch from what she is used to on The Walking Dead.

Creepshow is about a young boy’s horror comic that comes to life in this anthology series of terrifying tales. This is based on an 80s film written by Stephen King that was directed by none other than George A. Romero. Greg Nicotero, who is the director for the premiere episode of this series, actually worked for Romero on Day of the Dead as one of Nicotero’s first major jobs. Creepshow is set to release Sept. 26th on Shudder.

Fleming has done a wonderful job bringing Judith Grimes to life. Many of the children featured on The Walking Dead have been kind of annoying, yet Fleming has brought a freshness to the series which allows fans to adore her character.

Her friendship with Negan, portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is unusual but at the same time perfect. He was in jail for so long that he was a perfect person for her to converse with while everyone else was out surviving. In season 9, Judith brought out a tender side of Negan when he was in a panicked about finding her in a snowstorm. Will this be a turning point for Negan? With the exit of Michonne could Negan be Judith’s new caregiver?

Negan has respect for Judith, as she is Carl’s sister after all. And, Negan did have a soft side for Carl. He admired that kid and that same admiration has been bestowed on Judith. I am excited to see what happens next for Judith.

Judith Grimes and the rest of The Walking Dead cast returns Oct. 6 at 9 pm on AMC.
