Fear The Walking Dead, Today And Tomorrow: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
14) On the map of The Pioneers’ settlements, west of Paradise Ridge, is a settlement called “SuperLanes”. Maybe it’s a base made out of a bowling alley?
15) Additionally, on The Pioneers’ map, there appear to be six keys. This either means that Logan’s map of their settlements was out of date, or, that Ginny added a new key for the oil field, which might also explain why it’s the only one without a label.
16) As Al and Morgan leave Paradise Ridge, Ginny provides Morgan with a new end for his stick. I have just one question: Isn’t the handle STILL radioactive!?!
17) Am I the only one who thinks that that was pretty fast work on the part of Ginny’s woodworker to repair Morgan’s stick? I mean, Morgan and Al couldn’t have been in the community for more than a few hours, right? Is that a normal amount of time for that kind of craftsmanship?
18) As Grace and Daniel hide out inside the abandoned bar, Grace gives Daniel a Twinkie to eat. This is amusing both because of the longstanding joke about Twinkies ability to withstand a disaster, as well as their importance to Woody Harrelson’s Tallahassee in 2009’s Zombieland.
19) It is also amusing that Grace and Daniel should sing a duet of The Traveling Wilburys’ “End Of The Line”, considering that Karen David and Ruben Blades (Who portray Grace and Daniel, respectively), are both musicians.
20) Considering what happens to Grace as the episode ends, could the title of the song she and Daniel sang, “End Of The Line”, be some sort ominous foreshadowing?
And, with that, we’ve concluded our Things To Note for this week. Was there anything you missed? Was there anything I missed? Feel free to throw in your things to note in the comments!
