The world is growing for Rosita in The Walking Dead season 10
By Adam Carlson
Rosita will need the support of others around her more than ever when season 10 of The Walking Dead comes to AMC in October.
Rosita has always been a bit of a lone wolf in previous seasons of The Walking Dead. There have been numerous times she has followed her own agenda or even gone directly against the wishes of Rick Grimes in order to do what she believed needed to be done.
However, that mentality will need to change for her if she wants to be a bigger part of the communities. When season 10 rolls around, she will need the support of others to make sure her new child is safe, which means not only looking after the kid but making sure the community itself is a place to raise a child.
While it’s a bit difficult to know what is coming for Rosita when the new season comes to AMC, a bio released for her before the season premiere gives some hints as to what may be on the horizon for her.
Here is what it says:
"“Rosita has given birth to a baby girl named Socorro (aka Coco), which means “help.” And nothing could ring more true for Rosita. She is learning it takes a village to raise a child. Rosita is trying to find the balance between being a vigilant soldier, a responsibility in which she is skilled and confident; and adjusting to being a new mom, an unfamiliar and unknown role.”"
Many of those who have their first child tend to adjust to life as a parent pretty quickly. The love which one has for their own flesh and blood usually creates a strong bond that lasts a lifetime. But that entire situation gets much more complicated when factoring in the zombie apocalypse.
Rosita is already terrified from her experience with the Whisperers and now she will need to focus her energy on making sure they don’t pose a major threat to Coco. While she is a great fighter with many talents that can help on the battlefield, it will all be different now that her world view will change.
Missing from this bio is any mention of the awkward situation in her love life. Rosita has Siddiq as the father of her child, Gabriel as her man, and Eugene adoring her from a distance. Dealing with this will difficult, as she will need assistance but may not know who to look to for what. Either that or she could attempt to use each of them as often as possible to spread baby duties around.
The hope is that Rosita can get things straightened out and focus on parenthood and the community and keep the “love quadrangle” aspect of her romantic life to a minimum. Or, at the very least, be able to balance it while the group does what they can to be safe from the Whisperers in season 10 of The Walking Dead.
