Fear the Walking Dead 516 season finale recap: End of the Line
A Spark of Hope
After Morgan ends the call, he apologizes to his friends and walks away. He goes to June, who is tending to Grace. She doesn’t feel great. As June walks away, June tells him that he did everything he could. Grace offers him some candy from her pack. Grace tells Morgan that there was the guy at the plant and she told him how she felt before he died. They were close, and she let that happen because she felt it was the end. She doesn’t want Morgan to tell her what he wanted to say because she’s afraid of leaving on that note. Grace knows that Virginia won’t take her with them, and Morgan can’t control that.
Al watches her tapes. She sees John and June talking about marriage, she sees Alicia with her trees and she sees Grace saying that she wants to see it when they get there. It’s driving Al crazy that this is where they ended up.
John knows that June is upset. She’s worried that this whole thing will drive her to be the way she was before they met, where she used to run from everything. He tells her that she doesn’t need him to be the person she is, but she doesn’t want to be without him. John says they have something to fight for now, and he wants to fight.

Suddenly they hear horses and run off to see what it is. Dwight rides up with six horses and says they can make it work. He explains where he found the horses, and if they’re alive, it means there is water nearby. They can make it work at the Gulch.
The group starts to put together a plan to lure the walkers out. Alicia takes her weapon back from Strand and tells him that she’s not afraid of it anymore. He knows this and he’s happy to see it. Alicia tells Morgan that she was once having trouble killing, but the prospect of losing the people she cares about is even more important to her. She thinks they can do this.
There are some concerns. John, June, Al, Daniel and Strand are there at the fence with Dwight, Morgan and Alicia and they know that they will need more than water to survive. Daniel says Virginia isn’t leaving without a fight. John says they won’t have enough ammunition to hold them off. Daniel says that they have to clear the dead first. Morgan sees a billboard of a roundup and he has an idea: Use the walkers to fight Virginia.
The six horses and seven riders (Grace is riding with Morgan) ride down the road with their herd in tow. He says they’re not going to kill Virginia’s people, they just want to take what they need and move on.
Back at the Gulch, Al kills a walker and finds one of Virginia’s keys pinned to it. This starts her thinking.
Wes says that the Gulch is a little rough, but Alicia has been there before with the stadium. She tells him about Madison rebuilding it and the sense of peace it created. She sees the church and asks Wes if he wants to explore a new medium.
Morgan asks Grace if she’s feeling alright. Her stomach is upset but she is enjoying it. John tells his Junebug that he thinks this will work, and that when they get back, he’s going to marry her.
They arrive at the van and the truck and come up with a plan to lead the herd away from the road. They have to work together to make it work. June and Dwight ride off together while Strand and Daniel go off in another direction. June thanks Dwight because she knows that he could go with Virginia to find Sherry. He tells her about the voice and says that he’d like to think that it was her way of leading him to do what’s right.
They veer off the road and lead the herd into the field.
Jacob and Charlie explore the church. Jacob calls it “very New Testament” and he might need some oldies. Wendell and Sarah join them and Al reveals the keys. That’s where the horses come from.
