Fear the Walking Dead Gets Dark

Later that night Luciana tells the kids that it’s going to be ok as they’re loaded into a truck. Dwight is pulled into another truck. Al tries to bargain and go along with her van, but Virginia has a mechanic. She takes Al’s camera, and tells her that he wants to know everything about the helicopter.

Wendell tells his sister to make strong brews and Sarah is torn up that Virginia is separating them. Alicia wants to know that Strand did the right thing. He tells her that he did it to gain favor with her, and that they can be more dangerous from the inside. As Daniel walks past he asks why Strand gave them the starter, and he hopes Strand doesn’t lose sight of who he is when they get there.

Charlie sees Daniel and runs to him in a panic. He promises to find her somehow. Then Skidmark is loaded into a truck and Daniel says he travels with the cat, but a man steps in front of him and says not anymore. (BIG MISTAKE) Charlie is in tears as Daniel is loaded into a different truck.

Morgan is left on the steps of the church. John and June come out and June gives him the tape of their wedding. He vows to find his way back to her. He gives her the can of Scrabble letters before being dragged away from her. She turns and watches him go, her eyes full of tears. She goes to the truck that will take her away and they drive off, leaving Morgan alone with Grace. She tells him that after today it doesn’t feel like the end. He tells her that when they were at the mall he felt something for her and the only time he ever felt that way was with Jenny. He felt the possibility of more with her, and he wants to her know that.

Virginia walks up with their doctor, who is a family doctor but he did a rotation in oncology. As Grace walks away she tells him that she felt it too.

After Grace leaves, Morgan is truly alone.

Virginia stands in the street, asking if he’s ready. He will stay there because she has to protect the future. She takes out her gun, and he squares up with his stick and hits her as she fires so she misses and hits him in the upper chest. It’s not a mortal blow…but he’s hurt very badly. As he crawls away from her, she takes a gun from one of the nearby walker bodies and approaches him. She aims the gun at his face, her own face streaked with a livid welt, and she says she resents his face so much. She pulls the trigger and discovers that it’s a fake gun. She’s shocked.

Virginia gets a call from the doctor. Grace isn’t sick – she’s pregnant. Virginia laughs and asks how far along she is. 3-4 months, he says. She will meet them at the lodge. Morgan says Virginia would have left a pregnant woman to die. She was wrong about the future.

“I do hope you die,” she tells him. “But that’s not the point anymore.” She gets into the car and drives away.

Morgan takes his radio and tells whoever is listening that they did what they thought was right. They fought for the future, he says. They made a tough decision to call her, but if Grace is listening he wants her to live.
