Fear The Walking Dead, Channel 5: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
8) This episode gets its name from the radio channel Virginia tells potential new recruits to call if they need help from The Pioneers: Channel 5.
9) This episode’s title sequence features a field (With a tree bearing what looks like a bullet-riddled poster on it on the right-hand side) through what looks like a shattered TV screen, referencing Al destroying the TV upon which she sees Virginia’s promotional video.
10) When discussing Grace’s condition, it’s a nice bit of continuity that June doesn’t quite know what’s going wrong with Grace, and referencing how, before the outbreak, she’d send her to an oncologist, but, must now consult medical journals to properly diagnose her.
11) As I speculated last week, Janis, Tom’s sister, is the woman Wes saved at The Feedbag in episode thirteen, “Leave What You Don’t”.
12) Judging by Tom’s words after seeing Janis, Virginia did deem him “nonessential” (Much like Logan), and, apparently, the way she dealt with Logan is her standard way of dealing with “nonessentials”.
13) The “sheriff walker” (Who’s apparently named “Shelby”) Dwight kills as the group discusses where to go, is the first Humbug’s Gulch (employee) walker we’ve seen, and the second Humbug’s Gulch employee we’ve met, after John.
14) Presumably, the ultrasound machine was made on June 5th, 2009, as that’s the date it shows while June uses it to examine Grace, and, is likely its default date.
