The Walking Dead season 10 premiere: Party ideas for your celebration
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead season 10 premiere is October 6th at 9pm on AMC. You will want to celebrate in the biggest way possible.
On October 6 The Walking Dead fans will be gearing up for their premiere parties. Of course food and beverages will be front and center and they can not be your run of the mill tailgate party foods.
You can get as elaborate as you want but there are also some very simple ideas.
For simple ideas you can make grave yard dessert cups which consist of pudding in the bottom of a cup with crushed Oreos, for the ‘dirt’ and then add gummy worms to give the effect of worms coming out of the ground. Brain cupcakes are just regular cupcakes with pink frosting squirting in wiggles to look like brains. Make up some chocolate truffle balls and decorate to look like eyeballs. For a bloody bandage snack use some graham cracker pieces with a bit of cream cheese or white frosting in the center then add red decorator’s gel or strawberry jam for the ‘blood’. Shape a cheese ball into a simple skull shape, add olives for eyes, and sliced almonds for teeth. Use some thinned red frosting splattered on Oreos for blood splatter cookies.
You can get a lot more elaborate to really impress you guests. Make up some pastry puff intestines by making up some sloppy joe meat and rolling up in puff pastry sheets to resemble intestines and bake. Make up a meatloaf in the shape of a skull, add onion pieces for eyes and teeth, then add some bacon strips that will look like fried up skin when baked. Use some old clothing and tin pans to create a severed body. Make up ribs and place them in the chest of the body, chicken legs in one leg and brats in the other leg.
Gross cocktails are sure to be a hit with any Walking Dead fan. The Negan consists of Coconut rum, cherry vodka, cranberry juice, sprite and a cauliflower brain that’s been soaked in a homemade ‘blood’ syrup. Mix up a fun zombie martini with vodka, skinny mix appletini, raspberry dessert syrup, and green rimming sugar. The zombie brain hemorrhage drink uses some Peach Schnapps, Creme de Menthe (Green, not clear!), Bailey’s Irish Cream, and Grenadine to create a curdling or brain effect. The blood and guts cocktail uses thick jello, sparkling water, and vodka to make an interesting drink. Create a walker blood sangria with some red wine and Pomegranate Juice.
I have created a Pinterest board with all of the above recipes and MANY more. I would love to see what you come up with. You can post on Twitter and tag me.
We don’t have long to wait now for the October 6th premiere of Season 10. I am so excited to see what is up next.
