A New Friend Named Aaron

Season 5 Episode 10, “Them”

My favorite moment in season 5 is when Aaron was finally introduced into the series in the episode “Them”. Rick and the group decided to take shelter in a barn while their vehicle had broken down en route to D.C. Since a heavy storm was on the way, the group took shelter in a barn. The next day Maggie and Sasha were approached by Aaron, who introduced himself as a “friend”. While the group was initially suspicious of Aaron, they eventually accepted his invitation in the next episode to join him in going to Alexandria. This is why Aaron’s introduction into the story is such an important moment in season 5.

If Aaron hadn’t found Rick and the group and invited them back to Alexandria, they wouldn’t be a part of the stable community that we see them in the following seasons. Aaron plays such a key role into so many of the characters’ stories by giving them a chance at having a better life. Aaron has become such an important and strong character in the show, and he saved the group during a time when they needed it the most. Aaron will always be a real hero and a great friend.
