Our favorite moments from The Walking Dead season 6

Glenn Gets Through To Enid
Season 6, Episode 7 “Heads Up”
Joe says:
The Walking Dead is at its best when the interactions between characters feel realistic. While season 6 struggled a bit with some characters making long monologues that would be out of place in a regular conversation, there is a small moment in season 6 that reminded me why I love The Walking Dead.
This moment pops up in episode 7 when Glenn (Steven Yeun) urges Enid (Katelyn Nacon) to keep fighting to survive in order to honor the people that they had lost throughout the apocalypse. Glenn’s comments are part of one of my favorite aspects of the show: survivors helping one another to cope with the trauma of the apocalypse and how to mentally handle the constant loss of their loved ones.
After losing her family before arriving at Alexandria, Enid held a very negative perception of the world, believing that everybody is doomed and will die eventually; “that’s just how it is.” Glenn was having none of it, passionately explaining that “You honor the dead by going on. Even when you’re scared.” Glenn had lost plenty of friends up to that point, telling Enid that people like Dale, Andrea, and Hershel are still with him in his heart, pushing him forward to keep living.
This moment further reinforced the fact that Glenn is my favorite character on The Walking Dead, and maybe in all of fiction. Despite having no idea if his wife (or anybody at Alexandria) made it out alive, Glenn remains hopeful, helping Enid when she needed it. Just as Enid points out at the start of the episode, Glenn didn’t really know her at that point. Regardless, he knew that he had to do the right thing to support Enid before she was too far gone.
In a time of the show where things were rather dark and people were suffering, Glenn once again provided levity and a positive outlook that held the show together throughout its first six seasons.
