The Walking Dead season 7 had some bleak moments, but it also had some some heartfelt moments that celebrated the bond the survivors share. These were our favorites.

The Walking Dead season 7 was a rough one for fans. The season opener “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” was controversial because of the level of gore in the episode and it crushed fans to see Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee beaten to death by Negan. Watching the other characters try to get past that loss and deal with their new reality working for Negan was difficult emotionally.

But even in a relatively bleak season there were moments of hope and moments where the group rallied to fight back against the oppressive Negan to free themselves and to avenge Abe and Glenn. The communities of Alexandria, the Kingdom, and the Hilltop came together to fight against Negan. The Heapsters were introduced too.

Even though the Heapsters ended up double crossing Rick and the others Jadis later become part of Alexandria. Rick always had a way of turning enemies into friends and not letting anyone slide through the cracks because after all, people are a resource. Anyone that wanted redemption could find it at Alexandria.

At the end of season 7 the communities made their stand against Negan and the Saviors and managed to drive the Saviors out of Alexandria, but there was a cost. Sasha sacrificed herself to give the survivors the chance they needed to win in the ultimate gesture of love and loyalty to the family. RIP Sasha.

Now the remaining survivors are facing a new fight, against an even worse enemy. As we prepare for the upcoming Whisperer War in season 10 of The Walking Dead our panelists are remembering their favorite moments from The Walking Dead season 7:
