Carl Fights For Alexandria

Season 8, Episode 8, “How It’s Gotta Be”

Sara K. says:

In season 8, we had to painfully lose our beloved Carl Grimes. This was one of the most devastating moments that happened in The Walking Dead. However before Carl left us, he did the most heroic thing he could. He became a hero. Carl had returned to Alexandria after rescuing Siddiq and being bitten by a walker. Negan and the Saviors began attacking Alexandria.

Alexandria began buring into flames, and Carl decided to take action. He led the people of Alexandria to safety underneath the sewers. He put himself in harm’s way just to make sure that everyone in Alexandria were safe. It was one of the bravest acts of courage ever seen on the show. Carl knew that he was dying, but even up until his last breaths, Carl spent it on saving others.

From day one, Carl has always wanted to save people and it really brought his story full circle having him die a hero. It’s painful for me to say this because I didn’t think it was Carl’s time to leave, yet he got such a heroic but painful ending. Not to mention Chandler Riggs gave such a stunning performance in this episode. He really brought Carl Grimes to life in the best way. His contribution to the show will never be forgotten.
