The Good Stuff
THE WALKING DEAD IS BACK! Sure, fans have had FearTWD to sink their teeth into, but there is nothing quite like AMC’s flagship zombie show to get the blood pumping again. Seeing all our favorite characters again reminded me how much I loved season 9 and how much I was looking forward to this season 10 premiere!
Organized combat training on the beach. It’s good to see the survivors are taking threats seriously and preparing for the worst. Big riot shields to keep the walkers at a distance with ranged and melee fighters in the unit add balance for combat in case the Whisperers approach. And that walker’s face sliced off was a great effect!
Yin and yang. Michonne’s logic combined with Aaron’s passion makes them great people to bounce ideas off each other. Putting too much into either side of that dynamic makes decision making difficult and skews safety. Hopefully, Aaron continues stepping up.
Letting Negan out of his cell. With the threats outside the walls, the former leader of the Saviors is the last of their worries. The survivors know Negan can fight and would be an asset if they can harness him. Plus, having him work the garden can build some trust. However, not everyone is likely ready to forgive or forget about what Negan and the Saviors did.
Some touching moments. Seeing the scenes with Daryl and Carol as well as those with Daryl and Connie show that there is a bit of a softer side of the crossbow-wielding warrior in season 10 despite the war out there. These are the characters we love growing and developing in front of us, and it’s wonderful to watch.
