Who stepped up the most in the season 10 premiere of The Walking Dead and deserves the right to be called the episode’s Most Valuable Person.

The long wait for the season 10 premiere of The Walking Dead has finally come to an end and the episode titled “Lines We Cross” had plenty of action and character development that fans will be breaking it down all week long.

It featured some fantastic acting, new faces to the cast, and some great moments, but what was the best of all was seeing the characters who have made the show what it has been for the past nine seasons.

With all those great characters returning to AMC on Oct. 6, the question of which ones were the most impressive has to be asked. After a lot of consideration, a decision was made for MVP.

The MVP from The Walking Dead 1001 is Eugene Porter

It might seem like an odd choice at first, but there are plenty of reasons why Eugene stands out the most.

First of all, the way he stepped up to help out with Rosita’s baby is big. It’s obvious he wants to take on a parental role with her, but that’s not going to happen with Siddiq and Gabriel in the picture. It takes a big man to take care of a baby that isn’t yours, and it goes even further to prove the selfish Eugene of the past is gone.

Plus, Eugene continues to make strides as a fighter. During the fire in the woods, Eugene showed up on the scene to fight the flames as well as deal with the undead. He steps up when needed and can do jobs he wasn’t previously able to do.

Finally, Eugene is always thinking of ways to help the community. When the satellite fell from space and landed in the woods, instead of thinking of it as “Space Junk” (a song used multiple times by The Walking Dead that should remind people of Rick), Eugene sees parts and technology that might be able to be used to advance technology.

His work manning the radio and communicating with other survivors is great too, since response time in the event of emergencies is of paramount importance.

Runner-up for MVP

  • Aaron: Providing some great balance to Michonne’s stance, Aaron is not only ready to deal with the Whisperers at a moment’s notice, but he’s ready to rally other survivors to do the same. He’s taken the backseat for too long and it’s nice to see him step into a bigger role.
