The Walking Dead continues with “We Are the End of the World.” Here’s your synopsis of  episode 1002 airing October 13, 2019.

After a thrilling season premiere, The Walking Dead shifts its focus to Alpha’s world. The Whisperers are back from their winter vacation and now they’re working to build up their numbers. “We Are the End of the World” offers a frightening look at how Alpha and Beta came to be Alpha and Beta, along with a look at the inner workings of the pack dynamics.

Alpha is unlike other villains we have encountered on The Walking Dead and that’s why we’re learning more about her than we have with the Governor and Negan. It takes a lot to go from a mom to a murderer with a flock of the undead, and “We Are the End of the World” is a chance to see what Alpha was like in the early days.

In addition to learning more about Alpha, we have a chance to learn more about Beta and how he came to be Alpha’s loyal second in command. There’s a story there, and it’s time to pull back the curtain on his past.

This week’s episode also introduces Gamma, the only other member of the Whisperers to have a name. Her background has remained a carefully guarded secret until now, when the mask comes off, so to speak.

Here’s the episode description of The Walking Dead “We Are the End of the World” from AMC:

“A flashback reveals the origins of Alpha and Beta. Alpha attempts to toughen up Lydia as they prepare to walk with the dead. Meanwhile, the Whisperers create their herds.”
