Which survivor do you think should kill Alpha and why?

A war against the Whisperers will be tough, but the survivors have found a way to overcome even the worst of situations in past seasons of The Walking Dead. However, there are a lot of people who have lost people close to them at the hands of Alpha and her people.

With so many people wanting a piece of Alpha, who do you think should have the honor of finishing off the leader of the Whisperers? Here is what our panel thinks.

Sara L. says

King Ezekiel hands down. I’m a huge comic fan though, so I wouldn’t be disappointed if it was Negan because I loved that whole interaction. King Ezekiel has lost everything at this point, and while I understand Carol also lost Henry I just prefer Ezekiel after everything he has been through. He knew Henry, Benjamin, and the entire family long before Rick and the crew came in the picture. He lost Shiva, all the Kingdom fighters, the Kingdom, was left by Carol and he deserves some justice.

Sonya says

Carol. It should be Carol. I know in the comic it’s Negan that kills her but Negan has no connection to her. Carol has a powerful and personal connection to Alpha because of what Alpha took from her and because Carol is also a strong woman who isn’t afraid of anything. It would be a disservice to the fascinating, cunning, multi-faceted character that Samantha Morton has created for anyone besides Carol to kill Alpha.

Joe says

Alpha has to die, and Carol should be the one who takes her down.

We’ve seen Carol lose children plenty of times over the course of The Walking Dead, but this time was different. Life at the Kingdom with Henry and Ezekiel helped bring Carol back from despair into a place of relative happiness. So, when Alpha took Henry away from her, Carol’s happiness was shattered. But this is not the same weak and broken Carol that lost Sophia. Instead, Carol is a hardened survivor who will do anything it takes to protect her loved ones – just ask Jed and the other rogue Saviors from Season 9.

The only way that Carol is going to be able to deal with such a big loss is to take out Alpha personally. Carol even says “B***h has to die” in reference to Alpha in the season 10 trailer, so she clearly intends to get some justice for her son.

Jeffrey says

I am in full support of Carol and Ezekiel being the ones to end Alpha together. With the act of complete brutality that Alpha showed when she massacred ten of the survivors, she must die. I don’t see any type of path to redemption that Alpha could go down. Carol and Ezekiel killing Alpha would just make sense for the fact that Henry was their son. He was a good person that Carol and Ezekiel deserved to see grow into an adult and Alpha robbed them of that. Carol and Ezekiel also cared for their other friends that were murdered such as Tara and Enid. Allowing those two to kill Alpha would be a satisfying service of justice and revenge.

Renee says

Alpha needs to die…no doubt. And Carol is a likely choice because of her loss. But, I would LOVE for it to be Daryl. It would be like him to take revenge for his best friend Carol. To feel like he did something for her by ending the life of someone who caused her so much pain. Daryl and Carol really are the best of friends and Daryl is extremely loyal. He would lay his life down for anyone that he considers family.

Adam says

The arguments for Carol, Ezekiel, Daryl, or Negan are all good, but it would be huge for Alden’s character to be the one to have a hand in her demise. As fans saw in the Comic-Con trailer for season 10 of The Walking Dead, Alden isn’t happy and wants revenge for the death of Enid. He will likely be a big part of the group looking to “silence the whispers” this season and that passion will result in either the Whisperers or Alden himself dying.
