5. Alpha breaks down!

As a fan of The Walking Dead comics and villains, I have been waiting for the day when the Whisperers would make their way into the televisions series. Dare I say all the waiting was worth it because the whisperers we see on our tv are superior to those in the comics. Casting Ryan Hurst and Samantha Morton as Alpha and Beta is the definition of perfection, and the scene where Alpha breaks down is so captivating, I couldn’t take my eyes away.

This woman is an incredibly dark force, and we have seen her kill without thought or remorse for her actions. Seeing her break down with emotions was even horrifying to watch because you have no idea what she is capable of and what she will do next. It also makes you question, does Alpha actually care underneath all the madness?

Beta was angered after discovering this shrine to Lydia and seeing that after all this time Alpha even kept her stuffed bunny. However when Alpha starts crying, admitting the truth and destroying everything he is even taken back. One thing I find interesting is that while Alpha’s treatment of Lydia from the start is very hypocritical (using her name and going back for her) Beta seems to accept this and does not challenge Alpha.

Alpha and Beta holding hands and chanting at the end of this ordeal only added to the creepiness of what we watched. It seems that they have both seen each other at their low points and have an unbreakable bond, time for the next moment!
