Now that the Whisperers knows that survivors have crossed the border, how should Alpha punish those who went against her rules in The Walking Dead?

The first two episodes from season 10 of The Walking Dead both ended the same way. A staredown between Alpha and Carol sets everything in motion for a big showdown between the Whisperers and the survivors.

Now that Alpha knows they have crossed the border laid out in season 9, the question of what the leader of the Whisperers will do to reprimand those who broke her rule has to be on the mind of fans of the show.

In season 10 episode 3, there is bound to be some kind of altercation between the two groups, so we asked the panel what Alpha should do about those who disobey her.

Sara L. says

Let’s be honest, these are the biggest worst villains that we have had. So I’ll speak as if I was a Whisperer. If Alpha was my leader, then I would honestly already have some underlying issues with her because she went against her own rules by calling her daughter by her real name and going back to get her at Hilltop. These people knowingly crossed the Whisperer border so I want her to go for blood. No holding back. I would want all-out war (no pun intended) I think that is what we will see unfold.

Joe says

As much as I would love for Alpha and the Whisperers to simply disappear and leave the communities alone, we all know that is not going to happen. It seems like a war between the two sides is inevitable, especially with the survivors recently crossing the border – albeit for legitimate reasons. With some members of the Whisperers questioning whether the communities can offer a real life, this is Alpha’s opportunity to show her followers that the Whisperer way of life means a better chance at survival.

Renee says

I hate to see it happen but I believe we will lose some people. Beta isn’t going to let Alpha forget that she set up the borders with the understanding that those who crossed them would be punished. Beta is worried the pack will think she is weak because of how she handled Gamma’s sister. He wants her to show her leadership and following through with the promise of punishment is one way to do that.

Adam says

Alpha has to play this very carefully. If her secret is revealed while trying to keep her dominance over her own people and the communities, she will look extremely weak. The leader of the Whisperers needs to either capture some more survivors and eliminate them or make an attack somewhere where she knows Lydia will not be. I expect this will operate through a trusted ally, whether it is Beta or Gamma, so others who are daydreaming about life at the Hilltop can’t question her.
