The next wave is due in an hour, with another one behind them. Daryl tells Michonne that they can’t push too hard. Michonne knows that they’re all tired.

Suddenly Gamma approaches, walking confidently through the dead. She tells them that they need to go to the North border, immediately, lay down their weapons and wait. Daryl asks what they’re waiting for. “Her,” Gamma replies. She also says that these walkers aren’t theirs. (Interesting!)

The “elders” meet in the church to discuss the developments. The remaining members of the Highwaymen want justice and they’re tired of listening to Eugene ramble on about the satellites and the fire and how that could have attracted the walkers. They want justice, and they want to take a group to the border and put Alpha’s head on spikes.

Michonne asks what the plan is to take out Alpha’s tens of thousands of walkers. No one has one, so she says that they need to go talk with her and focus on the walkers coming in from the North and South.

Later, Michonne tells Carol and Daryl that Gabriel will protect the Northern border of Alexandria while Aaron takes some troops and goes South to fight them off, which leaves them to go speak with Alpha. Carol can’t believe they’re really going there unarmed, but Daryl says they have no choice.

Not for Carol, though. She goes home and grabs her gun anyway.

Gabriel and Aaron are outside arguing over the need for more soliders. It just so happens that Negan has been picking tomatoes and burying the dead, so he’s fresh and ready to fight. Aaron wants nothing to do with it, and neither does Negan. He calls Gabriel over and pleads his case, noting that people are amped up over the herds of the dead inundating Alexandria and he’d rather stay there. But Gabriel won’t hear it. They need to be out there. “Peanut butter, meet jelly,” he says. After he walks away, Negan compliments Aaron on his mace. Aaron is not amused.

Michonne walks past Gabriel on her way out. She’s with Daryl, Carol and a small group on her way to see Alpha.
