The Walking Dead 1003 recaps: Ghosts
Back in Alexandria, the dead are all deader. Rosita and Eugene get back and Eugene asks about Coco. He says he went out with her to protect her because she can’t grow up without her mother. Rosita explodes, saying that they will never be together. He’s not her father and they will never be a thing. She apologizes because she is so tired. He reminds her about how sleep deprivation makes people tell the truth. She has been trying to tell him that all along, and he didn’t listen. He sees that their whole friendship was based on the false belief that they could be something more.
Siddiq watches Eugene leave the house and he knows that something bad happened. Michonne finds Siddiq and asks if he’s still awake. She asks how he’s holding up, noting that as a mom the lack of sleep is normal for her. He says he’s just tired.
Dante comes out and gives Siddiq a drink. He reveals that he was a field medic in Iraq. He doesn’t talk about it unless he has to. Dante says you enter the war as one person and then you leave as another. He tells the story about the one guy who never broke, but when he lost his squad in Fallujah he turned into a mess. The guy is Dante.
Carol wakes up and hears music downstairs. She finds Daryl cooking breakfast. Carol realizes that they need jam, and he says that they should get jam. He gives her money and she turns to leave, but Henry is there.
When she wakes up for real, there are no more pills and Michonne is waiting for her. Carol says it was hard coming back. Michonne says she had to protect the group out there, and that only Carol saw the three Whisperers out there.
Michonne goes up to RJ’s room and Judith is there. When Michonne says it’s safe for now, they all three get into bed.

Carol finds Daryl outside. He compliments her on her pink bandage. She tells Daryl that Michonne doesn’t believe her, and she wants to know if he does. He does.
Back in the gym, we follow the trail of blood to the woods. There’s a dead Whisperer there, one who has just turned.
