The Walking Dead panel: Who would win between Carol and Alpha?

There could be a showdown between Carol and Alpha in season 10 of The Walking Dead, and it might be difficult to know which survivor has the advantage.

Alpha is an absolute monster of a person and has shown little remorse since her introduction on The Walking Dead. Her ability not to feel emotions makes her a cold-blooded killing machine. The Whisperers are more than willing to do her bidding without asking too many questions.

On the other hand, Carol has brought down entire settlements and groups of villains by herself. Carol does struggle with the weight of those she has killed in the past, but it’s unlikely she would feel too much remorse if she were to go head-to-head with the Whisperers.

The question has to be asked: if Carol and Alpha were to go one-on-one sometime in season 10, which survivor would come out on top? Our panel answered that very question.

I’m just going to be incredibly real here, in a 100% fair one on one Alpha will win. Carol is losing it and not thinking clearly. Even with grief revenge on her side it doesn’t account for Alpha already literally being insane/out of her mind and using that to her advantage. Alpha could think and do things Carol wouldn’t dream of. HOWEVER the fight is not fair, plot armor is the thickest armor by far so by default Carol will win.

While on paper they may seem pretty even, I think that Carol would come out on top if she and Alpha took each other on one-on-one. If we have learned anything over the course of the past 10 seasons of The Walking Dead, it’s that Carol is a fighter who knows how to survive at all costs. Even if she may not be the most physically imposing, she is able to use her smarts and ingenuity to defeat whatever she is facing – just ask Gareth and the others at Terminus.

I’d like to think that if Carol and Alpha went against each other one-on-one, Carol would find some way to outsmart the Whisperer leader and get vengeance for her son Henry. Fingers crossed that we get to see the two battle at some point in season 10!

Carol is a force. She has shown herself time and time again to be a woman of action. She killed people when they were sick so it wouldn’t spread to all the others. She saved everyone at Terminus. Even her timid housewife that she played as upon their introduction to Alexandria was all calculated. When it was time she threw that persona off and took charge like she always does.

I don’t think Alpha is a match for this woman who has overcome so much since we first met her. Especially since Alpha has killed one of Carol’s children. She has lost so many children and for her to be able to take revenge Henry plus all the pent-up emotion for Sophia, Lizzie, and Mika, Alpha won’t stand a chance.

While I’ve learned never to bet against Carol, I have a feeling that she would end up on the losing end of a physical fight against Alpha. Some of the things the leader of the Whisperers has done to stay in power and survive among the undead are beyond the imagination of most survivors.

It will take more than just Carol to put Alpha down. There will need to be some great planning and smart tactics to complete the job, not just attacking in a blind rage. It all depends on how Carol and the other survivors approach the fight.
