3. Can Siddiq manage?

While it proves to be very hard to watch, I do appreciate The Walking Dead showing PTSD, it makes a show about zombies that much more real. Fans can often get wrapped up in thinking about the next big event in the show, to even sit back and think about the simple. While necessary even killing zombies at the start would be hard on your mental health, they were humans at some point.

In the first episode of the season, a group of survivors looks at a dead body like it’s nothing.
In this episode we see Siddiq have a panic attack, even just mentioning the whisperers sends him into a bad head space. While we still do not know just how involved he was with the deaths of our ten fallen friends and speculation is making its rounds within the fandom, it doesn’t make it easy to watch.

With each breakdown Siddiq has, we learn more and more about that horrific event. This flashback was just as chilling as the last. While Dante was just about to assist Siddiq in removing the glass from Carol’s arm, Siddiq begins to have a flashback. His PTSD is so severe it might keep him from being a great doctor.

In this flashback, we see a few whisperers, as well as Alphas bloody machete. We also see what appears to be Alpha leaning over Siddiq saying, “good,” in her classic chilling voice. Since we see this when Siddiq is picking up a blade about to cut into flesh, could this hint that Alpha perhaps made him assist in beheading his friends?

Hopefully, throughout the season this mystery unfolds and we get the entire picture of what Siddiq endured. For now, let’s head into the mind of another unlucky survivor for number two!
