Lauren Ridloff takes over The Walking Dead Instagram 11/3
Lauren Ridloff will be sharing stories from behind the scenes on The Walking Dead this Sunday as she takes over the show’s Instagram account!
She brings Connie to life on The Walking Dead, and this Sunday Lauren Ridloff will be taking over The Walking Dead Instagram account ahead of this week’s all-new episode.
Ridloff joined the cast in season 9 as Magna’s group made their debut in the first episode of the post-Rick Grimes era. Connie has demonstrated a knack for tracking, and she has incredible aim with her slingshot. She and Daryl were the ones who went out to find Henry and Lydia, and in this week’s episode they have to go out into the woods to find Connie’s sister Kelly.
Ridloff, who has always been an advocate for the deaf and Hard of Hearing (HOH) community, is reaching new audiences with her work on The Walking Dead, where her character Connie described being deaf as her superpower. We certainly saw this superpower come into play when she rescued the Whisperer baby after Alpha ordered it to be left for the walkers. Luke was able to signal her using their own version of sign language, and she grabbed the baby and ran for safety.
Connie’s group arrived knowing sign language, and now there are other members of the Hilltop and Alexandria communities learning ASL as well. There’s a definite strategy to knowing a language that doesn’t require speech, especially given the threat of the Whisperers looming large.
The Walking Dead Instagram takeovers have been an incredibly popular way for the cast to share their photos and experiences on set with fans, and it has given fans a way to connect with their favorite cast members.
Be sure to say hello to Lauren Ridloff on Sunday ahead of The Walking Dead “What It Always Is” at 9pm ET on AMC.
