The Walking Dead 1005 review: Revelations and resources
Kelly
At the beginning of the episode, Kelly successfully took down a wild hog. But soon she found herself running from walkers. We also learn that she had been helping Magna to steal supplies from Hilltop.
This was a weird one. Kelly isn’t the type to keep things from her sister, and every indication makes it seem like she’s happy at her new home. Magna must have made a very compelling argument to not only convince Kelly to steal from Hilltop but to also put herself in grave danger trying to do it.
There’s a likely reason for this, though: Kelly is experiencing a rapid loss of hearing and it’s not easy for her to cope with. She very likely did this to prove that she could do it, so that her motivation was less about the act and more about the action of doing it. Even so, it was not the best idea when the Whisperers are out there watching.
Connie
Kelly’s actions put Connie in a very difficult position. Daryl was there to help her find her sister, but she also asked him to lie for her to cover up what really happened. Thankfully, Daryl knows a thing or two about family ties and so long as the supplies were returned, he was fine with covering up what happened.
Connie and Daryl spent some time together tracking Kelly and there’s no question that she considers him a friend. She doesn’t mince words with him, and she appears to be very relaxed when he’s around.
