3. Hilltop thieves identified!

We learn in this episode that supplies are going missing from the Hilltop. After a death scare with Kelly, we learn that the people behind the thefts are none other than Magna and Kelly. At first like most fans, I wondered why they would do it, but the more I think about it, honestly the more I understand.

Stealing from the Hilltop is wrong, there is no way to spin that and make it right. However, we don’t know the past and everything Magna and the group have gone through. I recall a time when Rick and the gang showed up in Alexandria, their out was much less friendly. They decided if anything went downhill they would take the place, not just flee with some supplies. Daryl and Merle’s initial plan was even to rob the Atlanta camp as well.

During Ricks and the group’s first weeks in Alexandria aside from small issues, they had time to assimilate within the community without conflict. Within the first week of Magna and the crew getting to Hilltop, Luke was kidnapped and 10 people ended up on pikes.

It might have been a year that Magna and Kelly have been there, but they also spent 6 extra years out on the road before finding Hilltop. We no clue of the things they endured. Kelly is a fan favorite, she seems to be of a very pure heart, so the fact Magna made sense to her makes me think this group’s past has a bigger WTF hiding underneath.

So this moment has a layered WTF woven into it. One being at what Mangas crime was, very chilling and real. The fact they did steal and Manga’s plan made sense to Kelly, as well as why it might have been done and what secrets their past holds.
