Magna has been distancing herself from other survivors and stealing on The Walking Dead but does that mean fans should start questioning her actions?

When Magna arrived on The Walking Dead, the group was hesitant to let her and her group in. Knowing a little about her past, Michonne and the people of Alexandria worried about bringing a formerly incarcerated person into the community, but the Hilltop let her in.

Magna proved herself to be a great fighter and an asset, but recently she has been fighting with Yumiko and stealing from those who let her in. It should make fans wonder if Michonne’s skepticism was right or if this is just a short phase she will work through.

The question posed to our panel of The Walking Dead experts was this: Are you starting to lose faith in Magna after seeing what she has been doing lately? Here is how they replied!

Sara L. says

No, I am not losing trust in Magna. She and everyone in her group have been through a lot. Two days after Judith saved them, Luke was kidnapped. Barely a week into being there the Whisperers strike with the vicious force, killing ten people. With what they have been through, she has every right to be cautious and plan for an escape.

Taking the stuff was wrong, but totally dismissing her is wrong too. Daryl and Merle were going to rob the Atlanta camp as they left. When Rick got to Alexandria his out was to kill everyone and take the place and they had been nothing but nice to him. Kelly even agreed with Magna so that has to count for something.

Magna is a very broken person just trying to push everyone away. I believe something will happen that will help her better assimilate. However, our group has done worse than stockpiling some food, and we still trust them. Her out was to run with food and not harm anyone so I can’t blame her at the moment.

Joe says

I am definitely losing trust in Magna after her questionable actions in the past few episodes. While I understand that she is going through some emotional times, that is not necessarily an excuse for endangering the rest of the communities as she has. As Daryl reminders her, Hilltop welcomed Magna in when they had absolutely no reason to do so. Magna needs to figure herself out by talking it out with Yumiko and the rest of her group before she makes a mistake that is too severe for her to stay at Hilltop.

Jeffrey says

I totally understand why Magna hoarded food and had an escape plan in place for her group in the event that things went bad at the Hilltop. That being said, she is lashing out at Yumiko, who is supposed to be the person she loves and trusts the most. The fact that she didn’t even tell Yumiko about the hidden supplies makes me believe that Magna knows what she was doing was wrong.

Since Judith saved Magna and her group, the communities have been nothing but welcoming and kind to her people, which makes this act feel like a betrayal. The Hilltop isn’t doing too well, and by hoarding supplies, she really just chipped away at the trust I had in her.

Adam says

One of the worst things to happen is when you root for someone and they disappoint you. Magna has the potential to be a great asset to the Hilltop and after the impact that her group made when they arrived on the show, it’s a bit disheartening to see her ready to cut ties with those close to her or make a run for it at a moment’s notice.

Sadly, this does mean the group will need a closer eye on her. Daryl and other members of Magna’s group should feel some responsibility for the things stolen. And if one of those supplies taken by Magna is something Ezekiel needs for his medical condition, my patience for her to come back around will wear very thin.
