The Walking Dead 1007 sneak peek, preview: Close Your Eyes
With two episodes left in the first half of season 10, things are about to get even worse for Siddiq as he grapples with his PTSD in The Walking Dead 1007.
Siddiq has been struggling since he was forced to bear witness to Alpha’s horrific act in The Walking Dead season 9. Now, in season 10, his PTSD has reached a fever pitch and in episode 1007 fans will see that he is not even close to being all right after waking up on top of the windmill with Coco at the end of “Bonds.”
In the preview of “Open Your Eyes” we see that Siddiq is trying to figure out what’s making so many people sick in Alexandria, but while he’s dealing with a possible epidemic he’s also having major flashbacks that threaten to destroy him. Everywhere he looks, he sees Alpha. In “Bonds” he hears her voice telling him to open his eyes, which makes for a very appropriate title for episode 1007.
While Siddiq is inundated by demons of the past, Carol and Daryl try to exact information from their Whisperer prisoner. He’s not talking, either because he’s drunk on Alpha tea and won’t turn on his savior or because he’s too scared to betray her. Carol turns to Lydia for help, and in the preview we see Lydia riding behind Carol on horseback while Carol tells her that a line has been drawn in the sand and it’s time for her to choose which side she’s truly on.
The preview for The Walking Dead 1007 also features a look inside Siddiq’s story. Take a look:
Siddiq returns in the sneak peek featured on Talking Dead as he experiences a particularly vivid flashback. This time, the flashback features the faces of everyone who died in the barn that night. He’s reliving that moment like some sick version of Groundhog’s Day, and it’s enough to lead him to throw himself into the lake.
Siddiq’s PTSD has been a huge story in season 10 and not only is it a problem for him, but now that the community needs his help to battle this illness he’s not able to focus on it. We know that the illness is probably tied to Alpha’s plan to contaminate the water with walker blood, and it’s likely that she left him alive knowing that she would drive him mad enough to render the good doctor useless against it.
With only two episodes of The Walking Dead left in 2019, anything can happen. And if you have been watching the show long enough then you know that not only can anything happen, but mid-season finales are often particularly bloody so “Open Your Eyes” will factor heavily into episode 1008.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC.
