2. Carols behavior

Carol’s behavior goes right to nearly the top of my list for a couple of reasons. One is the effects of her actions and the other because of who she betrays. It’s certainly no secret that she is dealing with a lot of mental health issues, and that is understandable with what she has been through and losing Henry horrifically.

However, it does not give her the right to decide everyone else’s fate for them. That is just simply not fair. I think everyone is on the same page that something needs to be done, but no one person has the right to make plans for everyone. If a war happens, it needs to be voted on and planned for.

Things do not seem to be moving along fast enough for Carol though. Instead of thinking out a thorough plan, taking it to the council and being heard out and backed by the community, she takes matters into her own hands even though they would likely work a plan out with her. She betrays the communities and possibly worse, Daryl, who still had her back.

Daryl tagged along on her trip, arguably a trip he should have stopped knowing her mindset, just to be used and taken advantage of. He had inklings all along that something was awry and at every turn, he seemed to be right, as lie after lie got him into more and more trouble. When he discovered she kidnapped a Whisperer he seems genuinely hurt. It will be interesting to see what all happens when they arrive back with the Whisperer in tow.

This WTF moment also holds the ability to create more moments down the road with blowback that occurs from crossing the border and kidnapping an enemy. Hopefully, someone can check this behavior and either get Carol thinking more clearly or kept inside the walls before irreversible damage happens.
