The Bad Things!

  1. A division among the ranks. Capturing a Whisperer wasn’t something the community agreed upon. Gabriel, who is in charge since Michonne is gone, confronted her about it upon their arrival. His response was a diplomatic one, offering to heal the wounds of Alpha’s followers…and that is something Carol really didn’t like.
  2. Struggling internally. Lydia may have fully defected from her mother’s group, but that doesn’t mean she wants to watch them all die a horrible death or be tortured. Talking that through with Carol was hard to listen to, but it creates an interesting situation going forward.
  3. Testing Gamma. Gamma did a great job of using her relationship with Aaron to try to gain intel. When she was unable to gather much information, Alpha returned to her mind games and physical assertion of dominance to get inside her head and make sure Gamma was still completely devoted to the Whisperers. That kind of abuse is hard to watch.
  4. Cheryl is dead. Known for her sassy replies to Dante’s flirting in the medical ward, it was hard not to like Cheryl. Since she was a victim of the sickness that spread through Alexandria and the Hemlock Siddiq picked, he took this death extremely poorly, forcing him into another bout that brought up his traumatic incidents. But it did make him realize he was giving people undrinkable water.
  5. Holy twist, Batman! So, Dante was a Whisperer who was at the beheadings to make the pike wall?! And he held Siddiq’s eyes open and said “open your eyes” while Alpha made the cuts? I have to admit that I didn’t see that coming at all. Choking Siddiq to death was intense, and definitely not the way I saw that episode ending…and I’ll miss Avi Nash on the show.
