Jon  Bernthal, who portrayed Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead series, is starring in the new Ford VS. Ferrari film as automobile executive Lee Iacocca.

Fans of The Walking Dead will love seeing Jon Bernthal in his latest project Ford VS. Ferrari as the automobile executive Lee Iacocca.  It’s already hit box offices and has done extremely well and received many positive reviews.

Bernthal is known for playing the hot-headed best friend of Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead series has also garnered an avid following for his work in The Punisher and Daredevil series.  In his newest project, portraying Lee Iacocca, Bernthal admitted he didn’t know much about the man behind the development of Ford Mustang and Pinto cars but his regard for him grew as he researched his life for this role. This role is quite mellow compared to most of the roles he is used to playing. He usually plays very masculine, muscle type guys but his role as Iacocca leaned on strengths in his business sense, integrity, and family values. The setting of Ford VS. Ferrari puts Iacocca early on in his career.

Bernthal told Detroit News:

"“This movie centers on a time when he was young and ambitious, and success was still ahead of him,” says Bernthal, on the phone last week. “I really tried to pay attention to what were, in his own words, the keys to his success, and then try to utilize them within the world and circumstances of the movie.”"

Bernthal is also involved in the Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark in which he has already completed filming. He credits the series as one of the reasons he became an actor. Now he gets to work alongside Michael Gandofini, son of the late James Gandofini who portrayed Tony Soprano in the series.

In seasons 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead, Bernthal gained quite the following as the character you loved to hate. Shane Walsh was oftentimes brutal, stubborn, and often took matters into his own hands. This lead to his demise at the hands of his best friend Rick Grimes, who was portrayed by Andrew Lincoln. Many times fans were shocked at the behavior of Walsh and not many fans mourned the loss of this character. Personally, when Negan was introduced, I thought we could use a man like Shane Walsh around.
