2. Father Gabriel kills Dante!

A small portion of me saw this death coming and even at the hands of Father Gabriel, but never did I expect the brutality of the scene. In the earlier scene where everyone was in the infirmary talking to Dante, I saw the look Father Gabriel was giving Dante. It was extremely cold. We have seen Father Gabriel get many emotions but I do not recall ever seeing that particular look, and I commented on if he was just going to kill him right there.

When he went to visit him in the cell and then opened it up and had a conversation, I was slightly nervous. Not because I thought death would happen, more so I thought Dante would say something that would make Father Gabriel never forgive himself. Which he likely will not anyway, so I didn’t want his headspace to get any worse.

Part of what made this death so unsettling to me, so much so that I had no words, was the very calm conversation he had with Dante before stabbing him. It had calmed my nerves to a point I was really shocked at how everything happened. I still honestly can not believe that this is the same person we met and saved all these years ago!

Father Gabriel stabbed Dante 200 times, I counted, no need to double-check. While making this otherworldly yelling sound. All I could do as a viewer was sit in total shock with my mouth hanging open and I know I am not alone in that! While I did rejoice a bit after the fact, I’m hoping this doesn’t send Father Gabriel down a dark path.

For number 1 however, pull out your flashlights because a dark path is right where we are heading!
