The Walking Dead season 10’s biggest unanswered questions
By Dawn Glen
Is Gamma trustworthy?
For once the show gave us a literal cliffhanger this mid-season with our intrepid Hill-zandria group doing a Goonies and falling into an underground cave holding several thousand walkers, rather than any buried treasure. Given that they had set out to find Alpha’s horde, you could say they succeeded, though not exactly the way they planned.
It was Gamma’s information and Aaron’s trust in her that led them to the initial site where no herd was to be found, but the question is did Gamma truly believe what she told Aaron to be true? Or was this all a big part of Alpha’s plan?
Of course, it wasn’t actually Gamma’s coordinates that caught our heroes on the hop, but Alpha putting herself on the end of Carol’s fishing hook by appearing in the clearing. Alpha has already learned how to push Carol’s buttons and seemed to set up a perfect trap for her and the other fighters.
Given how easily Alpha can read Carol, is it likely Alpha is using her weakening grip on Gamma to her own advantage and feeding her false info to pass on to Aaron? Or is Gamma knowingly being a pawn in this game of bones and more duplicitous than she seems?
She has a vested interest in her baby nephew that Alpha may not be factoring into the situation, so could we see Gamma team up with Lydia and Negan and destroy Alpha’s cult from within? Certainly there’s a long queue forming of candidates willing to part Alpha’s head from her body in the second half of the season.
