Honorable mentions:

No list would be complete without the Katana Queen herself Michonne.

I will admit I have been disappointed that there hasn’t been as much of Michonne as I was expecting especially since this is Danai Gurira’s last season. However, what we have gotten from her has been wonderful to see.

Michonne carrying on the legacy of Rick and Carl, her dedication to her family and of course her scenes with Judith show how far she’s come since season 3.

Her scene with Ezekiel talking about Rick was beautiful to watch. ( I too, appreciated Rick’s walk thank you very much.) She is a woman in mourning for her lost love but doesn’t let it hold her back from living her life.

I just hope the exit they give her is worthy of this magnificent character and a real tribute to Danai’s acting ability.

Kelly’s hearing loss resonates with me due to having not only family members but my experience with slowly losing my hearing. Angel Theory is inspirational in real life and as Kelly. I’ve mentioned the opening minutes of episode 5 being the most terrifying moments on the show and I stand by that.

Seeing this young woman running through the woods, injured, the sound cutting in and out had me wanting to cower under the blanket while wrapping her in a hug. I can’t watch that scene without my heart racing.

I hope to see a lot more Kelly in the back half as she continues to navigate the world. May her superpower keep her safe.

After an exciting first half, I am looking forward to seeing what the show brings in the back half of the season for these characters ( R.I.P Siddiq).
