Jeffrey Dean Morgan still hasn’t worked with Melissa McBride, and to The Walking Dead fans who have been waiting for that meeting, the wait continues.

The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is widely known for chatting with fans on Twitter, and over the Thanksgiving holiday the actor shared his thoughts on a glaring problem facing The Walking Dead: After ten and a half seasons, Negan and Carol still haven’t shared a scene together. Morgan wants that to change.

With all of the time jumps between the end of All Out War at the end of season 8 and where the show left off in 10A, fans have yet to see Negan and Carol interact. Carol mentioned Negan briefly during the first half of season 10, noting that the incident with Lydia and Negan was a “distraction”.

There is even speculation that Carol may have been the one to release Negan from his jail cell.

According to Morgan, it’s high time that Carol and Negan share some scenes, which would allow him to finally work with Melissa McBride:

It’s hard to imagine that the only time Morgan and McBride see each other is when they’re both coming and going from the set, but when they don’t have scenes together it makes sense. Clearly, though, Morgan wants it to happen:

Given Carol’s arc in season 10, it would make a lot of sense for her to team up with the one person who wouldn’t question what she was doing. Though Negan worked to get into Alpha’s good graces, he’s smart enough to know that she’s bad news and it doesn’t seem likely that he’s planning on sticking around any longer than it takes to wipe the Whisperers out from the inside.

And if you consider that Carol might have been the one to plant the idea in Negan’s head, the notion of them working together is tantalizing. We already know that the show is deviating from the comics, so now anything is possible.

We won’t know what the future holds when it comes to scenes between Carol and Negan until The Walking Dead returns for 10B, but one thing is for sure: Jeffrey Dean Morgan wants to work with Melissa McBride and that’s something that needs to happen.
